Initiatives

NTSA leads a host of initiatives and activities that are vital to the Modeling & Simulation community of practice. Please see the links on the right for more details on some of these activities and initiatives.

Advocacy

Through its close relationship with the Congressional Modeling & Simulation Congress, NTSA serves as the voice of the Training & Simulation Industry and helps to raise awareness of the importance of training and simulation to the well-being of our nation.

NTSA also works hand-in-hand with the NDIA Policy team, which monitors, advocates for, and educates government stakeholders on policy matters of importance to the defense industrial base.

Primer on Modeling and Simulation

NTSA developed and has updated (2024) A “Primer on Modeling and Simulation”. This document, developed on behalf of the Modeling and Simulation Congressional Caucus, describes the basic tenets of modeling and simulation, along with its applications to every day life. It is intended as an educational tool for Congressional Members and others on the benefits and applications of modeling and simulation to support national security, infrastructure, and defense.

CMSP Certification

NTSA manages the Certified Modeling & Simulation Professional (CMSP) certification program, which recognizes experienced simulation professionals (engineers and managers) who have met stringent work experience requirements and demonstrated mastery of the M&S Body of Knowledge through an online examination.

International Outreach

NTSA collaborates with numerous international organizations to promote the importance of Modeling, Simulation & Training technologies around the globe.

STEM Initiatives

NTSA leads a number of initiatives intended to encourage students to pursue education and careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) fields.
