Dr. Barnes received her undergraduate education at Creighton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then went on to receive her master’s degree at Georgetown University in Physiology. She returned to Creighton University School of Medicine in 2005 for her medical degree. Dr. Barnes completed her residency training at the University of Vermont in 2014 and then completed a Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Fellowship at Ohio State University. Dr. Barnes is Associate Professor and Program Director of Resident Education in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. 

Dr. Barnes provides care in many areas of sinonasal disease including, but not limited to, treatments for nasal obstruction, sinusitis, nasal polyps and tumors, and trans-nasal endoscopic orbital surgery as well as anterior skull base disorders. Her research interests include telemedicine in Otolaryngology, topical therapies in chronic rhinosinusitis, antibiotic use in post-operative period for nasal procedures, OSA risk factors following sinonasal surgery.
